I have over 20 year experience, mostly consulting, in a variety of industries ranging from financial services to medical manufacturing to telecommunications. Four years ago, I left consulting, and with Francine, I embarked on building North American Land Transfer.
Along the way I’ve learned volumes about entrepreneurship and even more about the title industry. As someone who didn’t “grow up” in the industry and a consultant by training, I bring a fresh, analytical perspective to Title Insurance.
This blog has grown into a forum where I present my perspective on issues that I believe are vital to future of the industry during what I feel is a period of profound and lasting change.

It is good to hear from a person on the title side of the business. It is not an area you normally learn much about other than when you place an order or have a policy returned to you for a deal. Which counties do you focus on? I am assuming you have a specific geography that you cover. Do you happen to cover Chester county?
I will post a few questions as I do have some things I am curious about. A bit will focus on the differences between the west coast (rarely do people use lawyers for RE deals) and the east coast.
Interesting enough was when I realized that title insurance is not used in the UK. Solicitors handle the paperwork but there is no specific insurance policy issued.

John – thanks for your many comments. Yes, we do serve Chester County.
We are located just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Since we’re a service based operation, we limit our business to the areas around Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. We’ve been know to travel outside that area at client request, but we don’t look (market) for deals outside our chosen area.
